General Information

The East Beach at Birds Hill Park is the start and end of the race and where you register upon arrival.  The man-made lake here is great if you’re nervous about your swim as adults can stand up at almost any point in the lake and touch bottom. The Bike portion has rolling hills which provides a nice little challenge but not the bigger hills like Kenora or Riding Mountain. The run is along the trails around the East Beach area with no large inclines.

Aquabike

Aquabike is being touted as the fastest growing multi-sport in North America.  Aquabike consists of the swim and bike portion of a triathlon.  Athletes start at the same time as the Olympic distance triathletes, completing the same swim and bike distances on the same course as the Olympic racers.  The only difference is that they head to the finish line from T2 rather than start the run course.  It is perfect for athletes who do not run or athletes recovering from an injury.

9:40am Bike Cutoff (no new laps allowed)
10:00am BIKE COURSE CLOSED
11:30am Race Course Closed
Run course will close 3 hours and 30 minutes after the start of the Olympic distance.

Birds Hill Park Conservation staff require South Drive (main bike route) to be clear of all bike competitors by 10am.  As a result, any bike competitor not starting their final lap by 9:40am will be required to clear the bike course.  This will be enforced for all bike distances.

The run course will be closed 3 hours and 30 minutes after the start of the Olympic distance triathlon.  Any runners still on the course will be allowed to finish but no official time will be recorded.

Registration

Registration closed.

Timing

All Sunday events will use chip timing.  It's important to note that the chip must be worn on the ankle and preferably the left ankle (to eliminate any chance of the chip band getting caught in your bike chain), as well as it should be placed under your wetsuit not over top.

Food

Nutritious food, snacks and drinks will be provided post-race for athletes. Please use your water bottles for drinks to help reduce waste and make our race greener.

Volunteer

Thinking of doing a triathlon but not sure yet? Why not volunteer to get a better feel for it. Or frustrated with an injury and still want to be a part of the community you love?  Here's your chance to remain involved and give back.

Did you remember to:

1. Buy a Triathlon Manitoba Full Membership

You must have an annual Triathlon Manitoba Full Membership to take part in this race (usually part of your club fee if you belong to a Manitoba triathlon club).  If you do not have this you will need to pay an additional $20 per Athlete for a One Day Membership on your entry form. Click here to get your Triathlon Manitoba membership. Sign up, save money and support Triathlon in Manitoba!

 2. Park Pass

Our event falls on Family Fishing weekend which allows free entry into Birds Hill Park for all racers, volunteers, and spectators. No park passes required this year.

3. Review Triathlon Manitoba Rules

Be prepared! Please review the Rules and Safety Tips from Triathlon Manitoba in preparation for your race.
